By David Millward for The Telegraph. Recreational pot smokers could be able to enjoy marijuana in another state after the governor of Vermont announced his intention to introduce a bill to legalise cannabis.
Four states Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and the District of Columbia have legalised recreational pot following voter referendums.
A number of other states including California, Massachusetts, Maine and Nevada are expected to hold ballots on legalising the drug this year.
However, the approach by Peter Shumlin, Vermont’s governor is rather different, proposing to introduce a bill which will be considered by legislators in the largely agricultural New England state.
